IPSY October 2015 Glam Bag Review

Ola Senioritas!

I am subscribed to IPSY, a monthly subscription where I get a couple of samples (sometimes full sizes) of product like makeup, hair, skincare and etc, etc. I've been with IPSY for a few months now and I feel like its time to review the stuff that I get every month.

I understand subscriptions aren't for everyone, so if you always wondered if you should subscribe to IPSY then it's my pleasure to make that decision a little easier for you.

Let me start off by saying this was the best smelling Glam Bag that I got. I literally died from every scent that came in to my IPSY October 2015 Glam Bag. I don't know about you, but I love it when a product smells delicious or just down right good. If I'm putting that shit on my body or hair I want to smell good y'know?

  • "With Keravis Protein and Argan Oil, Deeply Conditions, Repairs and Strengthens. For all hair types."
  • I'm trying to pin point the smell of the product, it definitely reminds me of something but I can't get my head around what. I'll keep you posted if I find out. All you do need to know is that it smells amazing.
  • I have very thick long hair, I usually wash my hair every other day and I apply a lot of heat to my hair when I do (straighten, curl and blowdry). I used the Hair Mask as a conditioner after my shampoo and let sit for the rest of my shower then wash it before I get out. To be honest,  I usually never see a change within hair masks in the past, but I did see this one in particular made me pleasantly surprised. I actually saw a change within my ends, they legit felt softer.
  • Disclaimer, I don't get very greasy on my 2nd day hair, usually only at the end do I see oiliness, but I did notice that this hair mask made my roots look a little oilier than usual on the "2nd day hair". So if you're one to get greasy roots easily definitely only focus around your middle/end of your hair. I learned that the hard way ahah.

Peter Lamas Exfoliating Pumpkin Facial Scrub
  • "For all Skin Types"
  • "Deep Cleanses, Exfoliates, Polishes and Invigorates Skin, Brightens Skin Tone"
  • For my fellow Canadians (holla!) this literally smells like Tim Hortons' donuts. I want to eat this cleanser. I've been trying to be healthy the past few weeks so this had kinda helped me quench my sweet tooth because the smell of this is so satisfying it's downright weird.
  • I have dry to normal skin, and extremely sensitive to exfoliating products. I either have really good or really bad experiences with some exfoliaters. Thankfully, this was a really good experience.
  • Note** it was the time of the month for me when I was trying this product/my Vitagoods brush needs to be replaced so I can't really tell if this Facial Scrub really did clear out my skin. I stopped using my Vitagoods and my god forsaken period ended and I don't know if the Facial Scrub helped clear up my skin or if it was just the other two factors that were making me temporarily break out. Though, I did feel like this product did make my skin feel extremely smooth and brighter.

IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes!
  • "Our innovative, Hydra-Luxe Technology treats and protects each and every lash from root - to - tip. The magic wand brush and 5 - in -1 formula lengthens, curls and separates your lashes, plus the Lash Ball detailer grabs every last lash to give you your fullest and longest lashes possible! Now's the time to GO VERTICAL!"
  • Smells like roses. like wtf, it's a mascara. Not that i'm complaining, but usually mascaras don't smell that good!
  • I'm asian, so them eyelashes of mine are a struggle and a half. But this mascara has the ball on the top just like Benefit's They're Real, but the ball on IT Cosmetics is a lot bigger, which I LOVE! I have little to no bottom lashes so this Hello Lashes made it a lot easier for me to reach those tiny little bottom hairs.
  • This is a dryer formula which I quite enjoy, but if that's not your favorite I would stay away. I like my lashes to have a bit more volume, and this guy did the trick. I didn't see a huge different in length, but boy was I happy with the volume.

Emite Makeup Tweezers
  • To be honest, I didn't care too much for these.
  • These tweezers aren't bad quality tweezers they're actually pretty good quality. But like I mean it's tweezers not something to really look forward to in a subscription bag to be honest.
  • I currently have the Anastasia Beverly Hills Tweezers and I absolutely love them, Now those are GOOOD tweezers, so unfortunately when I saw this in the October 2015 Glam Bag I was all "meh".
  • RATING: 2.5/5
The Balm: Meet Matt(e) Hughes (Committed)
  • "Long - Lasting Liquid Lipstick"
  • The smell reminds me of Christmas. I usually get these white chocolate mint pretzels around the Christmas time from Family friends. So it takes me every inch of my being to not eat this lipstick because it smells so god damn delicious.
  • I know some people are either down for the liquid lipstick trend or flat out hate it. I absolutely love liquid lipsticks so it really didn't surprise me that I loved this little guy. I'm more on the more tan side of skin tones and I felt like this was an absolute perfect nude pink. To be honest I can see this on all sorts of skin tones.
  • I loved that this wasn't tacky at all, sometimes liquid lipsticks tend to have that sticky consistency when you smack your lips together but I was pleasantly surprised that this one didn't.
  • I did notice though that the longevity wasn't as long as I hoped. I own liquid lipsticks from Kat Von D, Jeffree Star, etc and I am so incredibly happy about their long wearing liquid lipsticks that it was hard not to compare how long I can go between the brands.
  • RATING: 4.5/5
